BROKEN BUT NOT BEATEN
A business partner emailed me this week with these words, “You could never fail me–you have already won.”
Of course, this was music to my ears and joy to my heart. My response was, “So happy to hear these words because I fail myself so often.”
Over the past 75 years, I have been broken, yet this Word of Hope proves Fredric J. Crowell has not been beaten. The cross is my victory!
Beaten down yet healed up,
Fallen down yet climbed up
Dirtied down yet cleaned up,
Bad-mouthed yet encouraged up,
Forced out yet promoted up,
Given much yet payback up,
Knelt down yet HE raises me up.
Josh Groban sang it this way:
“When I am down, and, oh, my soul so weary,
When troubles come, and my heart burdened be,
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence
Until you come and sit awhile with me.
You raise me up so I can stand on mountains,
You raise me up to walk on stormy seas.
I am strong when I am on Your shoulders,
You raise me up to more than I can be.”
“Give thanks in all things for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” I Thessalonians. 5:18
